Project results

Summary of the results

The project LIFE09 ENV/FR/000593 started the 1st of September 2010.
The first project months were dedicated to define the concepts of “Outputs, Products, Market needs, Risks for innovation” to go towards the REMAS tool configuration.

The 18 months were dedicated to design all the tools needed for the project..

2 important results after 18 months:

1°) Up to 01/03/2012, the consortium listed and ranked 144 research projects at European level (from LIFE and Interreg programmes) and national level (from France, Poland, Spain and Romania).
21 products for ReMAS (available in the e-Fair) and 8 BC were selected (the description of what should be done to develop innovation). Regarding the BC, 2 of them are now developing an action plan, 6 others are being discussed with the Research teams. Some BC are in progress, and some other being updated.
The ReMAS is tested with the Liaison Committee members (discussion in group, tests face-to-face) that enriched the tool with the point of view of the practitioners and organisation dealing in the Water Science-Policy Interface (SPI). With advices from the LC, the ReMas is in continuous cycle of improvement.

2°) the promotion of the innovation precursors (namely brokerage events, national seminars, e-seminars and e-fair) to identify both sites for implementation, and SMEs / companies ready to take over the innovation was specified in the Precursor Marketing Strategy (PMS). The first event to promote the innovation precursors was organised in September 2011 during the EURO-INBO General Assembly in Porto. With SMAGUA (7 March 2012 in Spain), Water RtoM is taking a major step promoting 3 innovations to the SME during the brokerage event. For this event, we are cooperating with Europe Enterprise Network (EEN).

For 2012, Water RtoM will promote the innovations to European events: WODKAN Fair (Bydgoszcz, Poland, 22-24 May 2012), EXPAPOA (11-13 June 2012, Bucharest, Romania), POLLUTEC (28 Nov. 2012, Lyon, France).
The partners will organise National seminars focused on specific thematic, and e-seminars.

2012 is being an active year for improvement and consolidation of the tools ReMAS and BC.
It is expected to increase the list of research outputs, and to have 25 products more for ReMAS and 10 BC more.
